1) Passive solar energy: large fenestrated wall positioned south. Passive heat gain thanks to the concrete floor and slate (dark color) that stores heat. A sensor strategically placed in the floor raises the temperature of the floor and interrupts heating when the sun hits directly and helps store heat. 7) Structural Insulated Panels (SIP): Structural insulated panels for exterior walls. There is no thermal bridge through the walls, which contributes to the energy efficiency of the building envelope.
