Stable and Riding School, built in 2010
Construction details:
- 8-inch x 24-inch footing, 42 inches deep, with 8-inch x 60-inch high reinforced concrete foundations covered with Styrofoam. 2-inch S.M. and 1/2-inch concrete panel on the exterior with an agricultural drain coated all around.
- Stable floor: 1-inch polyethylene wire mesh Styrofoam + 4-inch polished 25 MPa concrete with central underfloor drain.
- Indoor riding school floor: compacted footing and loose sand (equestrian-grade grain size) according to specifications from Lemay & Choinière Inc.
- 12-foot high walls, 2 inches x 6 inches at 16 inches, with 7/16-inch aspenite-covered joists. R20 polyethylene wool + slats.
- Stable ceiling: two 8-inch x 10-inch beams supported by 6-inch x 6-inch posts. 2-inch x 10-inch x 12-inch polyethylene. R30 wool, ¾-inch plywood screwed for hayloft flooring
- Stable ceiling covered with white vinyl (agricultural type)
- Hayloft roof: 24-inch rafters, 1-inch slats covered with 29-gauge enameled sheet metal
- Riding arena roof: engineered laminated wood beams (solid wood) held in place by steel cable, covered with 1½-inch tongue-and-groove planks, polyethylene, 2-inch urethane panels, slats + 26G seamless enameled sheet metal
- Interior and exterior walls made of oiled, tongue-and-groove spruce planks
- PVC windows, roof skylights + lighting in the drip edges. Aluminum soffit for a 12x12 garage door in the riding arena
- Underground 200 AMP electrical entry with teak wires inside the walls, with waterproof outlets and switches compliant with agricultural insurance standards
- Ceiling fan in the riding arena + 6 unit heaters for hot water heating. 24-inch wall fan in the stable with automatic control.
- Hot water heating, 800-gallon tank provided by a highly efficient EPA-compliant wood-burning furnace (boiler). Model 2022 + electric backup heater installed in 2022
- Wood shed + shelter for tractor and trailer (not included), manure conveyor, and wood shavings storage
- Furnished tack room, kitchenette, and full bathroom
- 8 2-inch hemlock stalls with painted iron mesh doors
